Mining and Tunneling - Innovative Underground Mining and Tunneling Contractor

	Utilizing state-of-the-art drill-and-blast or a transverse-head road header and custom-designed mobile rock cutting technology, MMS is prepared to help you meet your mining goals on projects large or small.
	MMS maintains a Voist-Alpine AM75 Road Header (60-ton class).
	Shotcrete, which is quickly becoming the mainstay of underground support, is an art that MMS has developed to a high degree over the past 8 years.

Hallmark of Magorian Mine Services
	The hallmark of MMS is the direct involvement of the owner, Don Magorian, in all aspects of the mining/tunneling project. With a total of 25 employees, multiple crews work in an integrated and efficient manner that gives good results. Crews typically have 30-40 years of combined experience.
	Don Magorian, a Mining Engineer, who graduated from the University of Nevada's Mackay School of Mines has over 30 years expertise/experience in the following areas.
		Underground mining and tunneling contractor experienced at tunneling in a wide variety of ground and support conditions. Currently building wine caves using primarily non-blasting tunneling methods.
		Supervisory experience in establishing efficient underground mining operations, creating plans, setting goals, and following them through to completion. Evaluating and providing solutions for technical underground mining and support problems.
		Hands-on experience. Mr. Magorian personally installed over 30,000 feet of tunnel, ramps and declines, plus stopping and raises, including over 5000 hours of at-the-controls Jumbo operation, mining in a wide variety of support requirements, drilling and blasting conditions.
		Mechanical experience to maintain high overall mechanical efficiencies for complete and remote operations.

	American River Pump Station ( Bureau of Reclamation) - Tunneling and wet well chamber construction for pumping out of the American River to provide water for Placer County. Article and photos shown below are courtesy of the Auburn Journal. For a text version, please click here.



	Ferrari Carano - Over 47,000-sq. ft. of wine-storage cave constructed in two phases using non-blasting methods in fractured and unfractured 13,000 PSI volcanic rock.


	Pyramid Mine Portal - Excavated and installed portal for experimental mine, University of Nevada, Reno, Mackay School of Mines.


	Staglin Family Vineyards Underground Winery and Cave - 23,000 sq. ft. of wine cave, including an underground winery with 34 feet diameter and a finished height of 23.5 feet in squeezing ground conditions.


	Deep Star Portal (Newmont Mining, Small Mine Development) - Installed new portal for Deep Star Mine. Job completed ahead of schedule. Carlin, NV.

	Soledad Mountain (Golden Queen Mining Company) - Rehabilitation of over 4000 feet of existing tunnels and installation of over 2500 feet of new tunnels and 11 core stations.



	Red Ink Maid Mine (Foresthill, CA) - For 5 years contract mined 1000-1500 feet per year of tunnels, ramps, and declines plus stopping, raises, core drilling, and some engineering for successful specimen gold mining operation.

	Stanford Stadium - Construction of the access tunnels for the new Stanford Stadium



	US Borax Inc. - Contractor for the underground (and limited surface) rehabilitation to safely remove potentially hazardous materials stored underground. Boron Operations, US Borax, Inc., Boron, California.
